Abstract
To evaluate the rate of apperance of Y fluoresccent body in human mature spermatozoa, 104 slides obtained from the medical student volunteers and the donors seeking semenanalysis, were stained with quinacrine mustard and quinacrine dihydrochloride. The stained slides were scored with a count of 100 spermatozoa. In view of the rate of apperance of F-body in spermatozoa, there was no great discrepancy between reported ratio of about 45% and our obtained one of 40.3%, which was the mean of 42.1% with quinacrine mustard and 38.6% with quinacrine dihydrochloride. As for two-f-bodies, using quinacrine mustard, the rate of appearancce was 1.03% and 0.75% was come by with quinacrine dihydrochloride. The mean was 0.89%. With the above findings, It can be safely stated that the F-body is not necessarily represented by the Y chromosome in human spermatozoa.
